Networking Opportunities
WAEN will hold networking events to give the opportunity for members to interact with fellow members who share similar goals and may be able to assist with new business opportunities. Any WAEN Member can also raise ecotourism topics for online discussion.
Capacity building and training sessions
WAEN aims to build capacity in the region through sharing best practices, highlighting core research available in relevant areas, and hosting events to cover key topics in ecotourism.
Ecotourism Awards
WAEN will host annual ecotourism awards, recognising the people, initiatives and sites that enable ecotourism in our region to grow and thriv highlighting the very best of the region’s sub-sector and celebrating quality, best practices and innovations.
Marketing opportunities
As a member of WAEN you can display the WAEN logo on printed materials and give your product recognition throughout the industry. Advertising on the WAEN website will also be available in the form of a banner.
Trade show participation
WAEN members will be invited to participated in the West Africa Tourism Organisation (WATO) travel trade expo, which attracts tour operators, travel agents, and the media. Members are able to exhibit and market their products and services and/or provide promotional materials for visitors. The format of the event ensures quality over quantity to give members the best return on investment.
Marketing research
WAEN plans to undertake first-hand research into key markets for ecotourism in West Africa. The research will be made available to members.
Complimentary membership to West Africa Tourism Organisation (WATO)
WAEN members will be offered complimentary membership with WATO, inclusive of benefits from this membership.
